Cuba was no different.
It wasn't plucky college kids who brought Olympic baseball's Big Red Machine to a grinding halt. It was age, wooden bats, defections and dozens of major leaguers spread across the other seven teams in the tournament.

SYDNEY (AP) -- South Korea's version of Mark McGwire led his country to the baseball bronze medal.
Lee Seung-yuop doubled home a pair of runs with two outs in the eighth inning Wednesday (Tuesday night EDT), sending the Koreans to a 3-1 victory over Japan and their first medal in Olympic baseball.
