This past season, forward Joy McNichol completed her second year
professionally in Spain after a successful college career at Laurentian
University in Sudbury, Ont. She was the All-Canadian rookie of the year in
1993-94 and won bronze with Laurentian at the 1995 and 1998 CIAU
Championships. She majored in health promotion at Laurentian. She was a
member of Team Canada at the Olympic qualifying tournament last year and
has played 35 international games.

Sept. 18: Canada def. Senegal 62-41, moving to 1-1 in preliminary round.
Sept. 17: Canada lost 78-46 to Australia in opening round game.
