Jeff Schiebler is a veteran of international track and field competition.
The 5,000 and 10,000 metre specialist competed at the 1996 Olympics and
his resume also includes four world outdoor championships, seven world
cross country championships and two Commonwealth Games. He is looking to
regain his magical times set in 1998 which includes two Canadian records:
27:45.75 over 10,000m at the 1998 Hyogo Relay Carnival in Kobe, Japan and
13:13.96 in the 5,000 at a meet in Germany.
He started running in 1988. That year he made the Canadian cross country
team on basically no training and qualified to run at the world
championships in Norway. He quickly quit hockey and joined a track club.
