We asked Sun Media readers to vote for the top tourist attraction in each province in our poll to determine the must-see sites -- and sights -- for visitors across the country.

Thousands of votes were cast as readers chose their favourite place in each province. Now, we take a look back at the tourist attractions deemed tops by our readers and pit each provincial winner against the others to determine the number one tourist attraction in Canada, chosen by Sun Media readers.







Provincial Winners:

British Columbia: With 51.8% of votes, you named the Rocky Mountains the top tourist attraction in B.C.

Alberta: Banff National Park was chosen as Alberta's top attraction with 55.45% of votes.

Saskatchewan: Athabasca Sand Dunes Provincial Park narrowly beat Fort Battleford National Historic Site of Canada to claim the title of top tourist attraction in Saskatchewan with 41.47% of votes.

Yukon: You chose the Klondike National Historic Site in Dawson City as the top tourist attraction in the Yukon, with 44.29% of votes.

Northwest Territories: With 52.04% of votes, Sun Media readers chose Aurora Borealis viewing as the top attraction in the Northwest Territories.

Manitoba: With 56.96% of votes, polar bear watching in Churchill was chosen as the top tourist attraction in Manitoba.

Nunavut: With 47.56% of votes, Baffin Island easily beat the Northwest Passage Trail as the top attraction in Nunavut.

Ontario: Niagara Falls was chosen as the top tourist attraction in Ontario by Sun Media readers, with an incredible 73.48% of votes.

Quebec: The historic hub of Old Quebec City was easily named the top attraction in Quebec, with 81.8% of votes.

Prince Edward Island: Anne and Green Gables were named the top tourist attraction in P.E.I. with 72.49% of your votes.

New Brunswick: The Bay of Fundy was chosen as New Brunswick's must-see site by 74.27% of reader votes.

Nova Scotia: The Peggy's Cove Lighthouse was named the top tourist attraction in Nova Scotia by 49.17% of voters.

Newfoundland and Labrador: Signal Hill in St. John's was named the top must-see site in Newfoundland and Labrador by 36.21% of readers.
